Forklift Truck Counterbalance And Reach Conversion Truck (Novice)

This practical course has been designed for the prospective Fork Lift Truck operators who have little or no experience, is approved by A.I.T.T, and fully complies with the approved code of practice for the training of Fork Lift Truck operators (April 1089)

Objective

To enable participants to acquire the skills and knowledge needed to operate Fork Trucks safely and efficiently and to take the A.I.T.T driving test. To understand the implications under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, the Factories Act 1961 or the Construction Lifting Requirements 1961.

Course content

  • In-house company codes of practice
  • Indentify, describe and explain the principle components
  • Understand the terminology used and the features affecting stability and capability of the machine.
  • Carry out pre-use safety inspection and perform daily maintenance checks as recommended by the machine manufacturer
  • Identify safe terrain conditions and operate within the limits of the machine
  • Understand the safe loading of the machine and be able to assess the weight pf of the loads handled if applicable
  • Understand  operator safety code
  • Operate and manoeuvre FLT in confined spaces
  • Stack pallets and stillages
  • Carry out bulk stacking
  • Load and unload transport safely (if applicable)

Attendees will be awarded a  certificate on completion of the course. This course is trained by an A.I.T.T qualified instructor.
